Dr. Melinda’s Methods

Dr. Melinda’s methods are based in finding the imbalances in the body, returning them to balance and then supporting the body as it heals its self. She is often heard saying “find it, fix it and then leave it alone!” By finding and then correcting the imbalances in the body it allows it to once again begin to function the way the Creator intended. She then supports the body with Whole Food Nutrition, Essential oils and Flower Essences as she determines necessary.

In both her methods of Chiropractic and Nutritional Counseling she seeks to get to the “root of the problem.” This type of perspective PREVENTS patients from being required to visit the office 2-3 times per week for numerous weeks. Most patients receive initial relief in 2-4 visits and can then require some ongoing care for a few weeks on a 1 visit every 1-2 weeks. After the body has found balance Dr. Melinda often recommends patients seek 1 visit per quarter to prevent a recurrence of a severe issue.

Below is an explanation of her specialized methods of Kinesiology and Chiropractic.

Fight-Flight Response

The cornerstone of Dr. Melinda’s practice is alternative methods based on the autonomic survival systems of the body. These instinct mechanisms include, Feeding, Fight-Flight, Reproduction, and the Immune System are all automatic functions within the body and therefore all have specific neural reflexes. Every time the body perceives a threat of injury or death these reflexes are disturbed, and a series of predictable events occur within the body.

When we lived in a world that was not so technically advanced, we were forced to run away or win the fight with whatever was threatening us, or we did not survive. This act of running, or fighting, resets the entire fight-flight system, uses up the excess adrenaline, and allows our bodies to return to their natural state of balance.

Today’s society is filled with things that can cause a threat to our bodies and we are not always able to run and reset our bodies. If you, after getting in an auto accident, ran away from the scene to reset your body, you would most likely be arrested!

Dr. Melinda uses kinesiology to determine the mechanism by which these autonomic survival reflex systems are working, or not working with each other. During analysis, she will find which reflexes are weak. Through a series of predictable corrections, Dr. Melinda seeks to reset these disturbed body mechanisms, reorganizing the way the body perceives information gathered. Using cranial contacts to trigger reflexes, Dr. Melinda in a way “reprograms” and “reorganizes” the body’s defense mechanisms. She also uses body meridian balancing, neurolymphatic and neurovascular points, as well as ancient Chinese acupressure points to “reorganize” the body’s other neural reflexes such as the endocrine (hormone) system, digestive (feeding) system, and immune system.

It is this proper integration and sequencing of the neural reflexes that allow the body to return to the balance in which our Creator intended it to be. This re-organization allows the body to function in its maximum state. Dr. Melinda believes this re-organization supported by essential oils, flower essences, homeopathics, and proper nutrition will assist the body in achieving maximum health.

A fight-flight reaction is what happens when the body perceives a threat of injury.

The Emotional Aspect

The body has a record of every physical and/or emotional trauma that it has ever encountered. These traumas can cause the body to be locked in the fight-flight pattern discussed above. Oftentimes illness occurs because of trauma that is locked into the cells.

Dr. Melinda uses her knowledge of how emotions affect the body along with alternative methods including essential oils, flower essences, and homeopathy to assist the patient in discharging not only the emotion and/or trauma but the cell memory of the trauma.

This process helps to remove the root cause of the health problem. For example, many lung problems stem from grief. The lungs are the organ of grief and prolonged grieving, even on a subconscious level, can and will often cause chronic lung problems such as bronchitis, continuous colds, or even recurrent pneumonia. These problems often do not respond well to traditional medical care such as antibiotics, because the problem is not rooted in a bacterial or viral infection but is instead rooted in the cell memory of the person’s grief. By discharging the cell memory the body is able to heal itself and continue functioning without the constant health problems that the memories created. This work will not remove a person’s memories, only the negative effects the cell memory may be having on the body.
